Q. Who can attend Wood Badge?

A. Any registered BSA adult (18 years old or older) and had completed the following course:

  1. Youth protection leader version or Venturing version base on scouting position
  2. A specific basic training course base on scouting position such as Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Specific training, Cubmaster specific training, Venturing Leader Specific training, etc.
  3. Outdoor Leader Skills

Q. I am a Venturing and hold no leadership position. Can I attend Wood Badge Course?

A. Yes, if you had completed one of Specific training, Outdoor Leader Skills and Youth portection. On the form, leave Current Position/ Volunteer Position blank or write "Crew".

Q. When / Where can I take Leader Specific and Outdoor Leader Skills courses?

A. Youth protection and some specific course for Cub Scout Leader are offered online at http://myscouting.org

  1. Other courses are offered at your local council
  2. Santa Clara Council (San Jose) will offer SM/ASM Specific course on April, 6, 2013 and Outdoor Leader Skills on April 26-27-28, 2003 in bilingual Vietnamese-English.

Q. I have completed Wood Badge course long time ago. Can I attend the new course?

A. Yes, Individuals who have attended Wood Badge in the past (either Cub Scout Trainers’ Wood Badge or Boy Scout Leader Wood Badge) may attend Wood Badge for the 21st Century provided that: (1) They agree to write and work a Wood Badge for the 21st Century ticket; and (2) they agree not to wear Wood Badge beads until they have satisfactorily completed their Wood Badge for the 21st Century ticket.”

 Starting 2001, the Wood Badge course had replaced by the new Wood Badge for 21st Century

Q. What does course number 999-13 mean?

A. Number 999 is the National Council Number and 13 is for 2013. Possible from now on Wood Badge Course offered thru National Council will start with number 999 and the year of Wood Badge Course. Start with this year from July 29 to Aug. 4, 2012 at Phil Mont, The Spanish WB Course is # 999-12 had been conducted.

Q. What's next after I send my Participant Acceptance of Invitation Form and fee or register on line?

A. As soon as the National Office processes your form, your name will be post on Tung Nguyen VII Website.
By Decemebr 15, 2013, you will receive an e-mail with the Login Name and password to login to Tung Nguyen VII website at http://wb2013.huongdao.org . After login the first time, click on Your Profile on the right and change your password, login name and/or new email address if you wish. You also will see a new Paricipant Menu.
